ELEVEN MONTHS

this is the last little birthday before we celebrate you first Big one.
the past month was all about Leo-proofing the house because every day you develop a new skill that turns every corner of the apartment and every trivial thing around the house into a potential danger. you stubbornly object walking, even though you know well that you can – but why would you bother? you are crawling like a pro, and it gets you to places way faster than this awkward wobbling in the air. the sleep has normalized again, and we are back to our 10h night stretch. your favorite toys during the days are shoes (mine or yours, it doesn’t matter) and socks – they can keep you busy longer than any other toy. you remove them both from your little feet and insist on being barefoot, no matter how hard I try to persuade you. you started pointing your finger at things and people, and say smth resembling words more often. according to your Dad, your first meaningful word was actually “Andiamo!” exclaimed with the prefect Italian pronunciation, which makes me wonder – what happened to Russian and Spanish we speak to you??
you start showing your temper, and I am afraid it’s a fiery one, just like your Daddy’s and mine (we didn’t leave you much choice, alas) but the sweetness and smiles prevail, and cuddles are in abundance.
