EL RUSO

your father lovingly calls you “el ruso” saying that you look like a “russian baby”, whatever it means. i usually protest saying that you look exactly like your father, who is argentinian-italian. but somehow, as days go by and you grow bigger, your adorable face transforming every day, i did start seeing a little bit of the chubby round-headed infant with light almond-shaped eyes i used to be. my slavic features are humbly taking over and whimsically mixing with the ones of your father. it’s like looking at a polaroid picture slowly developing right in front of your eyes, seeing how details are being defined, becoming stronger, saturated with colors.
you are almost 2 months old now, your hair is getting longer and stronger, boasting this beautiful honey tone of your father. your eyebrows recently made an appearance too, adding a variety of new expressions to your face, from “blue steel”-like frown to a brow-raising surprise. your nose had no chance but to inherit the aquiline shape, which both me and your dad have – question is if it will have a little crook in the center like mine or if it will be a stronger and wider version of your dad. i can’t help but observe and compare: my head shape, his chin, my shoulders, his fingers.. you are the perfect beautiful mix of your mom and dad, made with so much love.
